Piotr Krępeć is a Polish guitarist and composer working in the field of European improvised music and contemporary jazz.
His artistic practice focuses on solo improvised forms for acoustic baritone guitar, where listening, silence and space play a central role.
Rooted in classical guitar training and shaped by long-term collaboration with jazz musicians, Krępeć has developed a personal musical language situated between improvisation and form. His music unfolds slowly, with attention to resonance, texture and the acoustic properties of the instrument, drawing inspiration from the ECM aesthetic and the tradition of European improvised music.
Krępeć has collaborated with leading figures of the jazz and improvised music scene. His discography includes solo albums In Substance, Movement in Silence and Earth, as well as improvised projects such as Impromptu Session with pianist Kris Górski. His recent work explores live solo recordings, emphasizing presence, intimacy and attentive listening.
